Also I thought the "ying-yang" was referred to as "the Tao" or am I mistaken?
It is spelled, Yin Yang.
Yin Yang: is used to describe how polar or seemingly contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other in turn. It is a Philosophical Theory.
The Tao: Literally means "the way," but can also be interpreted as road, channel, path, doctrine, or line. A system of morality. The way of Life.
I said Tai Chi Chuan or Taiji Chuan (same exact thing) was named after the Taiji Symbol, which is the same as the Yin Yang symbol.
