Wow, your grandfather was one of the founders of WIC? O_O
I owe him a lot. Without WIC I would have been living in a homeless shelter my entire life...
I hear that quite a bit. My sisters both benifited from the WIC program. The cool thing is he's the kind of person you'ld expect to be a founder of WIC. He never likes to see kids go hungry or need anything. If I ever needed money he was always willing to give me some.
Naturally I never took advantage of his generousity, but I remember he would give us (by which I mean all of his grandkids) his credit card, drop us off at the mall and tell us we could by anything we needed for school. Ofcouse that came to an end after my cousin bought a couple video games and my sister bought a pair of roller blades. Personally I always repaid his generousity in any way I could, mostly by helping him around the house and yard. That's how I learned plumbing and carpentry.
He also gave me my first handyman gigs. He use to own a bunch of rental houses which he'ld let me take care of. It was a pretty good situation which led to an interest in electricity.
So in short, trust me this is the short version, I owe him a lot too.
