So do you like to go first or second when you start off a duel and why? Some players just have an aggro deck so of course they want to go second so they can attack. Control builds want to go first so they can't let the opponent fall into all of their Traps. It depends on the build but what do you like?

I think it totally depends on the deck.

If you are starting "blind", I'd go first, to set up protection/field advantage.

That's how it should be anyway. You are supposed to decide who goes first before you pick up your hand.

First.   Set my **** up (like Skill Drain), and the opportunity to have a first (technically second) turn SD/AM is tantalizing...

o_o''' SD/AM' always been a standard Synchro Deck that instead controls, rather than goin' aggro.  Ironic...

Wow. My last post was in May.

Anyway, I think it depends on the deck.

All serious Duelists want to go first now.  Offensive Deck users want to get a powerful presence plus destructive effects ready to block any chances of fighting back.  Defensive Deck users want to restrict the opponent's moves from the start.  Going first may mean you'll always stay a step ahead.

You'd only want to go second if you had Dark Hole or somethin' like that.  Dark Hole will most likely be saved to put an end to a difficult field.  Unlike Heavy Storm where you could nail at least 2 easy.  This makes going second only good on rare occasions that do not quite count a Deck's strategy.

And holy crap, it's been a long time! o:
I think I was playing against either a DARK Synchro or DARK Zombie Deck.  Doesn't matter 'cause it he scooped! 8D
