Returning To The Game?

With all of the excitement of new Dark World support and the Dark World Society's return, I've felt a strong interest in returning to the game. I've been so out of the game and what has been going on that I need to be caught up. I feel like if I did get back into the game I could keep up with pushing Dark World further. However, the only thing that stops me is that I don't have anyone here I could really duel against.

You guys used to know I was very up-to-date on this game but not any longer. As long as I've been involved, I still want to get caught up.

That's the kinda competition you'll be seeing.  Plants have always been strong.  Reborn Tengu is the best recruiter since it only has to leave the field.  Tribute him for Caius, and you have 2 monsters!   Six Samurais are ridiculous.  Deck Devastation Virus wrecks 'em, so they're not too bad to face.  The OCG's Shooting Quasar Dragon changes the game, but uh, don't worry about that for now.   Smoke Signal searches out Kageki, Kagemusha, or whatever they need.  If they open with Kageki/Kagemusha + Six Samurai United, they'll be moving reaaaal quick.  Legendary Six Samurai - Shi-En is an ass if he has Traps like Mirror Force & the Solemn-like Samura necklace.  It's pretty GG for DW.  Dooomcaliber Knight helps us, but we still end up dying most of the time.  Of course we don't have to worry about Gravekeeper's.

As far as Blackwings, I'd say we can take 'em on.  They're still quite solid, especially with Raious, but Grapha (to pop BWW/Oppression) & Dragged Down into the Grave/Deck Devastation Virus + Mind Crush give us a good chance.  Hand disruption can't be appreciated enough VS. BWs.  Gladiator Beasts are alright.  DWL + Grapha does a great job against them.  It helps that Waboku isn't so common anymore (meaning DWL is less likely to fail), but more and more of 'em are using Compulsory Evacuation Device.  Besides ruining Synchros, it can make us "waste" Fiend removal for Gate (though we still get the benefit of 1 draw).

That just about covers it.  Make an account on duelingnetwork.com and host some games.  Ask for meta (or some specific Deck) when you're hosting.  I caught up quickly, so you're fine.

I just have to do a lot of reading. Checking out the packs, current meta decks on Pojo, and the ban list.

So first things first. I need cards. What packs should I buy? I know I'm gonna get Structure Deck Marik but what else?

Duelist Revolution is probably the most important pack to Dark World since it has Fabled Raven, and the staple Scrap Dragon.  But since it's only just those 2 cards that you want (two highly wanted cards), you want as well buy singles.  Unless you're willing to invest in a box.

That's about it.  I thought you still had a Mirror Force or something.

Nah, I don't have time for regionals and ****. Just be nice to go to locals and win.
