Black Salvo/Dark Armed Dragon (often abbreviated to SalvoDAD) decks revolve around the gradual set-up of an explosive play using Dark Armed Dragon or powerful Synchro Monsters to push for severe damage. This is accomplished using multiple methods, these methods vary depending on the build. Much like previous DAD decks (like TeleDAD), the use of cards such as Cyber Valley in combination with Mind Control allow the player to gain massive card advantage before pushing with Synchro Monsters or Dark Armed Dragon. Additionally, the deck's namesake, Black Salvo allows for a good combo with Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive to provide card advantage and more Synchro power.

Variants of the deck use Battle Fader and Dimensional Alchemist, Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive and Black Salvo to stall or slow down your opponent deck so nuke the field with Black Rose Dragon and win.

Slowing the opponent down with Battle Fader will also allow a player to synchro summon into a level 8 monster. For example, if Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive was in the graveyard, and a Black Salvo was in a player's hand along with a Battle Fader on the field, then that player could summon Black Salvo, pulling back Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive, and synchro all three monsters for a Scrap Dragon or Stardust Dragon. Cards like Treeborn Frog are also added to builds to synchro for level 8 monsters.

Still feel Dimensional Alchemist does not benefit you enough without Gold Sarcophagus even though you have 3 Chaos monsters to be ran at 3.  Take one out.  Too many monsters anyway. -_-

Why Kycoo, Decree and Smashing?  Crow does a good job at banishing without having any requirement.  What's the point of Decree when you have access to Breakers, a third MST and Heavy Storm?  Dust Tornado's there if you really need it.  Smashing's OK, but I don't see it being used.

Dimensional Alchemist is used to mill through your deck so you can get the cards you need faster.  Three of them is fine.  Plus Dimensional Alchemist does have a partner in this deck and it is Battle Fader.  25 monsters is fine in this deck.  You can even go to 24 and drop a Tragoedia for a Mind Control or another card of your choice.

There are some decks that Kycoo is better than D.D. Crow and there are some decks that D.D. Crow is better than Kycoo.
