Bullet For My Valentine "Temper Temper" Review

I know none of you will probably even read this or comment on it but I'm writing it anyway since I'm bored.



As you all know, BFMV is my favorite band because they are really talented. Their fourth album, Temper Temper, came out in February 2013 and I was concerned all the way until release. For the second time, Don Gilmore was the producer and I wasn't happy about that. He worked with Linkin Park and Avril Lavigne and you see what happened to them. They sold out. Sure they sold a lot but that doesn't mean **** to me if you don't even play the same music anymore. BFMV is heading down that path very fast.



The third album, Fever, is a different album but with improved lyrics and vocals. Even though the album lacked solos and screams. But I still enjoyed it because the melodies and rhythm were amazing. The title track Fever wasn't perfect but it was a fun party hard rock song. Temper Temper track is easily the bands worst song and my least favorite. Lyrically and musically, it is effortless. Like most of the rest of the album. There's no track on Temper Temper that I am proud of lyrically.

Tears Don't Fall Part 2 was a weak attempt to follow up the legendary Tears Don't Fall track. But that's because the lyrics are terrible. Overall, this album suffers from incredibly generic and simple music that keeps it from being proud of. Temper Temper isn't  horrible, it's just the bands worst effort yet.

Linkin Park didn't sellout! They just evolved the kind of music they wanna make. They don't want to be expected to make the same album over and over like AC/DC did. AC/DC never changed their music up.

Linkin Park's 1st 2 albums were great and I love them but all those songs came from a broken heart and drug addiction. Those albums are full of pain and they have moved on pass that pain. Usually music full of pain does really well.

They wanted to explore new ways of making music is all. They didn't sell out at all, look at A Thousand Suns! That was way off the wall from Mainstream and also way off the wall from rock. But it wasn't pop still. It was just strange. So that is not a sell out.

Minutes to midnight wasn't mainstream pop either it had an anti government theme. It just had ballads on it and folks weren't use to LP doing ballads. It was a less angry album is all. All the angry people out there didn't like that. This album is the only one close to being suspect of sellout. But still isn't.

They just evolve their ideas about music and do not want to make the same music everytime. How is that selling out? Because they did something different and found success with it? They had success before that! So they could easily revert back to that and still find success and they know that. So there is no sell out there.

**** you! Linkin Park used to be one of my favorite bands. They probably gave in to the record label and Don Gilmore. I hate that ****. He ruins bands. Linkin Park sold out. Minutes to Midnight was good IMO just everything past that was Pop/electronica bulls**t. No excuse for that.
