Someone tell me why the **** that even if you shower twice a day during the Winter your armpits still smell bad. Like deoderant is LITERALLY a life necessity in order to not smell bad. Just wondered this for the last few years. It's dumb.

Are you saying that your armpits only stink during winter? Or did you mean to say that even if it's winter they still stink?
Well BO is directly related to sweat, oil, hair, skin, and oxygen. Sweat and oils are produced to help regulate body temperature. If they linger on the body for too long they can start to stink. The smell is based on your diet. If you have a high salt or acidic intake, your sweat will stink. If you have a high sugar or fat intake, your oils will stink (there are many ways your oils can stink actually and is more complicated). Hair is the second step. Hair likes moisture, it soaks it up in order to keep healthy and strong. But it also soaks up oils and sweat, and they stink. If you leave those in hair for too long, your hair takes those smells AND EXPLODES THEM. Dead skin is also a very smelly substance. One of the most prominent reasons for BO is a lack of oxygen, well a lack a wind I should say. When smells are left to fester they get intensified. And then those smells start seeping into your skin. Which causes your oils in that part of your body to emit that smell for hours. Your armpits aren't the smelliest place on your body either, but because they are moderately open to the wind, their smell is more noticable to those around you.
So back to the top for my questions. If they only stink in the winter then your oils stink but your sweat is not that bad. If they stink even if its in the winter. Well it doesn't need to be hot for your body to smell. Oils and dead skin can handle the job just fine.

Nah just smells are harder to track when it is cold. But the rest of that makes sense. Still though, kinda sucks that you can't go without applying something even if you shower.

I go without deoderant on days that I stay at home. Doesn't stink until late in the evening, and even then, not much. Some people naturally stink too, not sure about how that works (Jeptha, you know who I'm talking about don't you? lol).
