Staraptor seems like the best common Flying type I've seen out of any generation.
Although it is too early to comment on Fetchling and Talonflame, I think we would all agree that Staraptor is indeed the best easily obtainable Flying type. |

Fighting does not resist Ice. Fire, Water, Ice, and Steel are resistant to Ice. Fighting resists Bug, Rock, and Dark. |

Thing is, is Fletchling is a part of a Threevolution. So I think it's 3rd form will be either equal or surpass Staraptor.

It's a rock move that deals damage to opponents Pokemon when they switch in. Fire and Flying are weak to rock so boom. Just watch.
Don't be so sure that this bird Pokemon will have 3 forms. Remember Hoothoot? How about Taillow? Just cuz the last 2 games had 3volution bird Pokemon, doesn't mean this game will. |

Could go either way... maybe they just didn't reveal the 2nd stage. I don't know, Talonflame looks pretty tough, tough enough that Fletchling will need an in-between stage to get there.
