This one could only be considered semi-official.  When it was revealed cameras were not permitted so no accurate images are available.  However some in attendance have made sketches and this image appears to be the best representation of what Oorotto might look like.  Speculation has been running rampant as to whether or not it could be the final form of Sudowoodo.  I think that assumption is just wrong.  It shares little in common with Sudowoodo when it comes to appearance.  I think it might turn out to be either a Grass/Dark or Grass/Ghost.

In all seriousness though, Oorotto will probably be a Grass/Fairy being called the Ent pokemon.

There are plenty of Pokemon that when evolved, don't look like their pre-evolved form.

The trend of giving things a 3rd evolution was heavy in Diamond/Pearl, so why wait till now to give it a new evolution? But then again, if it gains a new type (as it looks either dark or ghost to me) it would make more sense.

Yeah, that's a good point.  And just like the rumored Jynx evolution Sudowoodo has not been confirmed as being available in X/Y.

Now for the bombshell: I have no intentions of buying a 3DS to play this game. Woot! Hell, I've never even beaten Black. I started the Diamond playthrough, but I think I'm just done with this style of game now. It makes me sad, as I love these games, but handheld games just don't feel good to play anymore to me.

Ah, yes.  But they have done the Rock type that "looks" like a Grass type twice already with Sudowoodo and it's pre-evolved form.  I think you are basing your predictions on what they did too much.
