So I've been tinkering with BEWD again. The new structure deck really did wonders for the archetype as a whole, and I've come across 3 REALLY viable variants(aside from blue-eyes rulers....)...my problem is which is best. each has their strengths.(also cookie if anyone get's the reference)

Build 1: BEWD-Quasar

1 Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon
1 Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon
3 Blue-Eyes White Dragon
1 Darkstorm Dragon
1 Light Pulsar Dragon
1 Red-Eyes Wyvern
1 Heraldry Beast Berner's Falcon
1 Divine Dragon Apocralyph
2 Summoner Monk
1 Delta Flyer
1 Dragunity Corsica
1 Level Eater
2 Maiden with Eyes of Blue
3 White Stone of Legend

3 Dragon Ravine
1 The Seal of Orichalcos (I'll explain in a moment)
2 Silver's Cry
1 D.D.R.-Different Dimension Reincarnation
3 Trade-In
3 Dragon's Shrine
1 Draconnection
1 Foolish Burial
1 One for One
1 Dragon's Mirror
1 Stardust Shimmer

2 Champion's Vigilance
2 Call of the Haunted

extra:
1 Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon
1 Shooting Quasar Dragon
1 Shooting Star Dragon
3 Azure Eyes Silver Dragon(might cut one for T.G. Recriproco Dragonfly)
1 Life Stream Dragon
1 Scrap Dragon
1 Stardust Dragon
1 Power Tool Dragon
1 Formula Synchron
1 Thunder End Dragon
1 Queen Dragun Djinn
1 Lavaval Chain
1 Diagusto Emeral

CAN drop shining
CAN drop quasar
CAN game without either
CAN'T reliable get adequate grave set-up (6th sense? )
CAN'T sustain board if countered(unless it's shooting star/quasar/azure eyes on board...)
CAN'T work harmoniously between dragon and non dragon elements (less true than before, but still an issue)

Build 2: "Meta" BEWD

1 Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon
1 Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon
3 Blue-Eyes White Dragon
1 Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning
1 Darkstorm Dragon
1 Light Pulsar Dragon
2 Red-Eyes Wyvern
1 Eclipse Wyvern
2 Divine Dragon Apocralyph
2 Summoner Monk
2 Maiden with Eyes of Blue
2 White Stone of Legend

3 Dragon Ravine
2 Silver's Cry
2 Forbidden Lance
1 Book of Moon
3 Trade-In
2 Dragon's Shrine
1 Dragon's Mirror
1 Dark Hole

1 Solemn Warning
1 Champion's Vigilance
2 Call of the Haunted
1 Compulsory Evacuation Device
1 Bottomless Trap Hole

Extra:
1 Five-Headed Dragon
1 Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon
1 Star Eater
1 Trident Dragion
2 Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon
1 Blackrose Dragon
1 Ally of Justice Catastor
1 Thunder End Dragon
1 #66 Master Key Beelte (people get scared when azure eyes or star eater and him get on board together....as they should be)
1 Queen Dragun Djinn
1 Maestrone the Symphony Djinn
1 Lavaval Chain
1 Daigusto Emeral
1 Gagaga Cowboy

CAN drop shining
CAN game without it
CAN play VS meta decks
CAN'T reliable get to dragon's mirror (without sacrificing consistency)
CAN'T seem to play out of big back-row decks
CAN'T access R7 or L8 extra deck options reliably

Build 3: B.E.S.T. (shining turbo)
(pic is out of date and DN isn't working for pics for me atm so here is the updated list)
1 Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon
1 Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon
1 Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning
3 Blue-Eyes White Dragon
1 Darkstorm Dragon (DESHI BASARA!)
1 Red-Eyes Wyvern
2 Divine Dragon Apocralyph
2 Maxx 'C'
1 Rider on the Storm Winds(testing in for pulsar, pulsar works, just wanted to give this card a spin)
2 Maiden with Eyes of Blue
2 White Stone of Legend

3 Dragon Ravine
2 Silver's Cry
2 Forbidden Lance
1 Book of Moon
3 Trade-In
2 Dragon's Shrine
1 Dragon's Mirror
1 Dark Hole
1 One for One

1 Champion's Vigilance (testing 1-1 over a second copy)
2 Call of the Haunted
2 Breakthrough Skill
2 Phoenix Wind Wing Blast
1 Compulsory Evacuation Device
1 Bottomless Trap Hole

Extra:
1 Five-Headed Dragon
1 Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon
1 Trident Dragion
2 Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon
1 Crimson Blader
1 Scrap Dragon
1 Stardust Dragon (would be jeweled red but...)
1 Blackrose Dragon
1 Ally of Justice Catastor
1 Thunder End Dragon (solves a lot of problems)
1 Queen Dragun Djinn
1 Maestroke the Symphony Djinn
1 Lavaval Chain
1 Daigusto Emeral (lol imma go revive BEUD after you force it XD)

CAN drop shining
CAN OTK off of shrine+ravine(with BLS or pulsar in hand)
CAN outpace D-ruler decks(IE I'm fastest deck, about 3 dozen matches vs E rulers or blue rulers show that, and dragunity rulers it's a dead heat, who ever starts sprinting through their deck first tends to lose, unless they drop a synchro who self protects first.)
CAN'T handle banishing s/t
CAN'T reliably access it's back-row hater(darkstorm) without wasting 1-2 cards+a summon
CAN'T consistently draw decent(some inconsistency's have been mitagated)

the 3rd build I would argue is the one I am leaning to, if only for having a record 4 shining summons over 11 duels VS the dismal 1 the meta deck and the 3 the quasar deck have in twice the duels.

Frankly I feel Trade-In's kinda crap.

No one's tried Blue-Eyes Ninjas?  Now that works pretty well consistently.

If that were true sacred sword would not be doing so well. the thing is a yarded BEWD is largely a +1 to my decks, just as a banished ruler is to a D ruler deck.

ninjas tend to rely on ninjitus art of super-transformation, and THAT, relies on levels, and this game is now largely XYZ based, and has lots of interrupting plays to the ninja theme.if not for that though I'd like it.

They have 12 very live cards (the Dragon Lords) to suit 3 Sacred Swords, and the Dragon Lord's search upon being banished makes the Swords = Pot of Greed for them.  You on the other hand only have 3 BEWDs + 1 Darkstorm that you could spare for 3 Trade-In.  This weak ratio is exactly why a lotta Decks that tried to go for "draw power" ages ago did not succeed.  The lack of cohesiveness ended up working against them.  It's also exactly the reason why the Mali/Destiny Draw engine is surely. Stratos mattered that much. Malicious by itself, however, is still very good.

That minor "limitation" of Super Transformation is not a big deal and does not make it any lesser of a threat.  Ninja Decks are loaded with Traps, which forces your opponent to commit to the field if they want to get to you, and that naturally means they will be putting forth Xyz Material for you to take before they have a chance to Xyz Summon.  There is no doubt that Super Transformation is an effective & disruptive card.  I now realize just how naive many of us had/have been for having weak-reasoned preconceptions that has led to blind acceptance or dismissal of cards.

my 3 blue eyes are technically more like 6 cards thanks to stones, and if you consider I can leverage a discard to recurse and draw to dig deeper via divine dragon, then I can have as many targets for trade in as needed. the only misconception I see here, is how people count: when they try to prove a theory, they count any means necessary that can dig for card X, but when they go to disprove it's suddenly like those cards do not factor in. True the stones are not named "blue-eyes white dragon" and true their own level isn't 8, but they do get me said card, if it's not yarded, and if it is, chances are my grave is loaded and I should have ceased trying to make a set up, and should instead push and swarm.

As for NAST: You make a good point about waiting for the materials, but the other issue is the threat of MST. unless I run white dragon ninja, if I pull a target out of deck, it'll croak to a well timed mst in an instant. I like ninjas, I really do. I ran a shock lock+gandiva otk deck last format because of ninjas, but they are not as hot in a #16less world. they've got no real rank power play, and while 1-1 removal with a potential plus is nice, it's not a sure-shot.

Ah, I did forget about White Stone of Legend.  That makes it a little better, but I would only try 2 Trade-Ins to reduce the chances of drawing one when it will be dead.

MST beats all Traps.  As do Traps beat all monsters.  Super Transformation still gets rid of the designated monsters.

it only get's rid of the monster of said monster HAS A LEVEL, you cant NAST a XYZ. that's my main issue with super trans.

I'd argue night beam does just about everything MST can better, but I SUPPOSE setting it and blasting on on there turn has it's uses. I'll think about the trade-in number.

You can target an Xyz monster.  You just won't Summon anything unless you're running a low-level Dragon.

MST hits more than just Sets, so that's why it's better.

Trying to match the old D-Draw engine. If you had 1/2 more good targets, 3 Trade-Ins'd work a lil' more nicely.

what good nast target do I really have beyond darkstorm? the thing that made nast fun is the safezone lock, if I run WDN+ my stuff it'll get MORE cloggy, not less.

And that's why I think 2 Trade-Ins is much safer.
