Looks like in X/Y status changes have been changed. First of all electric types cannot be paralyzed. Also grass types have gotten a boost and cannot be seeded and are immune to Sleep Powder and Stun Spore. It is not clear if they will also be immune to Poison Powder. Ghost types are now immune to moves that prevent fleeing.

so my guide book came in. It was surprisingly a hard back book, small and compact. Kinda cool.
anyway.
it says that no powder or spore moves period have any effect on grass types.
Also fire types can never be burned and ice types never frozen and so on and so on. Poison types cannot be poisoned not even toxic spike swap outs.
and flying types do not get hit by switchout spikes at all.

You needed a guide book to tell you old info? Serebii has had that s**t up for months.

Not really. You had to wait a week after you got your game to get the guide. I've had access to similar quality information since release. Not to mention pre-release info. And yeah, I'm not getting the same depth of information, but that leaves something for me to discover on my own. For example even Serebii does not have the post-game trade which gives you another starter yet. You can imagine my joy at discovering that. And the rush of spoiling that for everyone who reads this.
Furthermore getting information online is free...So long as you don't count your internet bill. But I use my computer for so much that gathering game data is considered a minimal expense.

you still didn't disprove the book being more convenient. What if you waited to buy the game? Having a book there is more convenient than relying on the internet. Plain and simple its more convenient in general and waiting for a book to come in isn't even a factor. Once the book is in the convenience level is instantly increased. So...
and I didn't read ahead so geeze thanks for the spoiler.
the only reason I like the books is to see which pokemon are found in what routes and how rare they are. And those pesky and what people to talk to for secret items.

In a way I did. The slightly deeper information is offset by the wait and expense. Even if I waited I would have gotten my information online since it would have still been releases at the same rate.
And thanks to Serebii I can see what Pokemon are on what route and their rarity. Even as we speak the rarities are being switched with percentages, but they had the words common, rare and very rare up for a long time now. As for gift items, again I had access to that information for weeks now. And I still have beer money.

Books are fun to look at in my opinion. Sure, a lotta the stuff is pretty much common knowledge to those of us who go online, but who cares, just have fun & play the way you want to play. It's Pokemon.
