In X and Y there is going to be a way to gain EXP other than the standard battling.  Sadly this new method has been a part of the game since the beginning.  Your Pokémon will gain EXP after you capture a new Pokémon.  'Bout f**king time, right?  It's unclear how much EXP you will gain and there are a few theories going around.  One regards the level of the captured Pokémon multiplied by some factor.  Another states that it would be the same amount that you would get from knocking it out.

Time to hack Master Balls and become an expert trainer without effort.

It'd be cool if they counted the number of turns that have passed in the EXP pts you earn for capturing a Pokemon.  I think that's how it should work.  I mean, turn 1, you throw a fnckin' Quick Ball and you luckily snag a Pokemon.  Full EXP off of that?  No battle?  Nah, wouldn't make sense.  4/5+ turns for full EXP sounds about right to me.

Ah, but you forget Pokémon Bank, the new online storage system, won't permit hacked Pokémon to be stored.  Thus if you were to use a hacked Master Ball to capture Yveltal or Mewtwo you would not be able to store it on the cloud and so wouldn't be able to self trade to X or remove them for a restart.

Turn based gain makes sense, but for something like Ralts where it knows Teleport, well, you are luck to have more than one chance to capture it.  Personally I hope its something like Level * Number of Badges * 10.

Yeah, but before Jan. 31st there is a free one month trial.  I intend to take full advantage of it.

That was a joke, but item data is simple.  There are no further defining values besides the line of code for the item itself, and I doubt they'll make that more complicated.  That matters less than the Pokemon themselves.

Yes this new game is way easy to level your pokemon. And the new exp share is the fvcking bomb. It is a registered item and distributes to all party pokemon. Awesome! Also you get the exp share way too early in this game. But still it is awesome. Makes the game way easier and less grindage.

In the very 1st route there are 6 or 7 different pokemon to battle or catch. That is the most ever of any pokemon game fir the 1st route. And the 2nd route is a forest and it introduces a whole different set of 6 pokemon. Also some girl gives you 10 free pokeballs... so you are set.

I leveled my starter to 9 just by catching 12 pokemon. Never had to knock one out. Then after that I picked 5 and grinded them.

Actually it's a throwback to the original Experience Share from Blue/Red/Yellow.  It also shared with the whole team since hold items weren't introduced yet.

oh... but you had to have 100 pokemon in pokedex and wait until after the Masterball event just to get exp share back then... I never filled my pokedex... I don't think I ever got the exp share in blue or yellow.

Also Tye it is a registered item so you can just unregister it and never use it. Done.

It is crazy advantageous to get an exp share so early tho. I never have to use my 5th or 4th pokemon because my 1st 3 active pokemon are leveling the whole team lol. Its weird to get use to.

WRONG!

You had to have captured 50 different Pokemon.
